How to Format and Reinstall Windows

Purchase and download our easy to use guide and we GUARANTEE you'll be able to:

  • Back up your data prior to the format
  • Format your hard drive using a floppy or Windows CD
  • Install Windows and drivers
  • Update Windows to maintain stability
...or your money back, no questions asked.

End the frustration and be productive again!

Spyware, viruses and old age can reduce your PC into a pile of junk. Before you toss it out the window, a full format and re-install of Windows can work wonders by erasing all of the corruption in favor of a clean reinstall.

What's involved in a format and reinstall?

Your first priority should be to back up important data on the afflicted PC, such as pictures and documents, to a CD or another computer over a home network. It's also wise to take an inventory of your devices such as video and sound, to determine the proper drivers to install on your "new" PC. You'll format the hard drive with a floppy (Windows 95, 98, ME) or the Windows CD (Windows 2000 and XP), and install Windows from scratch. Don't forget a firewall, antivirus, and multiple trips to Windows Update, otherwise you'll find yourself installing Windows again in short order. For those that can't boot into Windows, you can remove the hard drive and set it aside - although the operating system may be corrupted, your data can still be read by other computers. You can also determine which drivers to download even if you can't boot to Windows.

Our guide makes it easy...

We cover the topics discussed above in step by step, visual detail. Packed with screenshots, our guide covers a full format and reinstall of Windows 98 and Windows XP. Those of you with Windows 2000 can use the XP directions, as XP and 2000 are virtually the same when it comes to a format/reinstall. This complete guide has it all - from saving data, determining drivers, formatting your hard drive, and installing/updating Windows to make your computer as stable as possible.

Advantages:

  • With tons of screenshots and photos, this guide offers you an exact run-through of how a tech would format and re-install your system, step by step. We make it simple to learn how to format your hard drive and re-install Windows 98 or XP.
  • The guide was written and the screenshots/photos were taken as a hard drive was being formatted and a re-install was actually being performed. It does not get any easier or more realistic than this.
  • Get started right now! Instantly downloadable - The ability to immediately get the guide means that you can get started right away without the hassle of waiting for a printed book or CD to be delivered.
  • Need help? You get one month of online support! Just email us at info@pcguidebook.com or use our Contact page.
  • Money back guarantee: We stand behind our guides. If you're not satisfied, we'll refund your purchase price.

Special caution: The techniques in the guide require a Windows CD complete with Product Key, and will destroy all data on your hard drive in favor of the cleanest install possible.

Those of you with Windows 2000 will be able to follow the XP instructions, 2000 and XP are virtually identical with regard to formatting and reinstalling.
